Some of the most untouched beaches in Naxos are not marked as beaches at all. The most important thing: Download offline maps. It could be that you will not have any internet and you don’t get lost in the middle of nowhere.
Switch Google Maps to satellite view. Look for small coves without tavernas or buildings nearby. If there is only one dirt road leading down, chances are high that the beach will be quiet.
The southern coast near Alyko and parts of the north coast hide several unnamed bays. Just remember that unorganized beaches mean no facilities, so you need to be self sufficient.
Do You Need a Car to Visit Beaches in Naxos
You can visit some of the best beaches in Naxos without a car, especially Agia Anna, Agios Prokopios and parts of Plaka. However, renting a car completely changes your experience. It allows you to reach wild beaches, quiet coves and less developed parts of the island. Scooters can work but strong winds and steep roads make them risky for inexperienced riders.

Early June and mid September are the best times to enjoy beaches in Naxos. The weather is warm, the sea is pleasant and crowds are manageable. July and August are busier, especially on organized beaches near Naxos Town. May and October are beautiful but not all beach facilities are fully operating.
